SHR is the regulator of Registered Social Landlords and the housing and homeless services provided by local authorities in Scotland. As such it regulates to protect the interests of people who receive the services we provide.
It's Regulatory Framework provides more information about how it does this.
In short it monitors, assesses and reports on landlords' performance of housing activities and RSLs' financial wellbeing and standards of governance, and can take action where improvements are needed. An important part of this involves checking that landlords are assuring themselves that they are meeting regulatory requirements.
Each year SHR makes a Regulatory Assessment of us, using a risk-based and proportionate approach.
Our annual Engagement Plan provides more information about the outcome of this assessment.
SHR also keeps a Directory of all social landlords, which contains information you may find useful.
