New Chair

New Chair Appointed to Board

Date Posted: 20th of September 2018

This week we held our seventh Annual General Meeting at Mcdiarmid Park in Perth. The well attended AGM reported on our positive performance and achievements for the year, including an overview on the organisations strategic objectives and saw the resignation of the long standing Chair of the Management Board, David Grant.

David has been a long standing, influential member of the Caledonia team. David was elected to Perthshire Housing Association’s Committee of Management in August 2010. He served as Chair of Caledonia Audit Committee from September 2011 to September 2013 before becoming Chair of Caledonia’s Management Committee on 17 September 2013.

David commented, “I have very much enjoyed my eight year involvement with the Association, including the last five years where I have been fortunate to serve and contribute as the Chair of the Management Board. We have achieved much over this period and I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone at Caledonia for all their hard work, enthusiasm and support. I think that the time is right for me to now retire and I am more than satisfied that I am leaving the Association in very safe hands for the future”.

Caledonia paid tribute to David’s valuable contribution to the organisation over the years; thanking him for his dedication to the organisation.

Penny Coburn, the Vice Chair, was later appointed as the new Chair at the Management Board Meeting. Penny is a long standing member of the Caledonia Management Team, having previously assumed the role of Chair of the Audit Committee as well as Vice Chair of the Management Board.

Penny commented, “I am delighted to have been appointed to the role of Chair of Caledonia Housing Association and would firstly like to my express my appreciation to David for all that he has achieved over his time as Chair. These are exciting times for our Association and the wider Caledonia Group. Through our work we will be focussed on transforming customer service, providing 1,000 new homes and ensuring our services represent value for money. I have no doubt that there will challenges on the way but I am confident moving forward that we will achieve our aims and continue to be a successful customer focussed housing organisation”.

We look forward to working with Penny to continue our mission to deliver homes and services that make life better.
