Annual General Meeting 2021
Date Posted: 1st of October 2021
Our Annual General Meeting took place on Tuesday 21st September. Again this year it was held virtually via Zoom and members were presented with the Annual Report and the Annual Accounts.
Introducing the Annual Report, Caledonia Chair Alan Nairn looked back on the previous 12 months. He reflected on the impact of the Covid pandemic on delivery of some of the projects and activities planned for the year, and on our day to day activities and services. He also highlighted the successful conclusion of the transfer of engagements with the former Bellsmyre Housing Association and the start of work to transform the Bellsmyre area; and the ongoing development of 417 new homes at 13 sites across Inverness, Dundee, Perthshire, Angus and West Dunbartonshire.
Alan Nairn also spoke proudly of our recent success at the prestigious Scottish Homes Awards, where we picked up the “Housing Association of the Year” and “Social Housing Developer of the Year” titles. He took the opportunity to thank the Chief Executive, fellow Board Members, the Executive Management Team and all staff for their contribution towards this achievement.
Our Director of Finance and Governance, Leigh Grubb, provided members with an overview of our financial performance during the year, noting that a high level summary was also included in the Annual Report.
During proceedings, Andrew Richmond and Derek Robertson were re-elected to the Management Board. Three new members, Katherine Burke, Thomas Davis and Allan Jones were also elected to the Board. Chair, Alan Nairn also extended a particular thanks to three Board Members, Mary Clark, Ian Gray and Alex McDougall who had all stood down after serving on the Board for a combined total of 14 years.
The business of the AGM concluded with the reappointment of RSM UK Audit LLP as External Auditors.
